Selected for “Habitar Portugal 9_11” (Portuguese Architects’ Association), in the category “Between Variation and Symbiosis.”
New-build project comprising two single-family houses, designed together and organized as two semi-detached units, resulting in a unified volumetric composition that responds to the territorial context and the surrounding residential scale.
Despite its contemporary architectural language, the design of the shutters and shading devices draws on the tradition of wooden filters found in southern houses, introducing a calm and temperate atmosphere through the interplay of light and shadow cast by their patterned screens.
