Aldeia do Caos is a project developed following a competition won by the studio, to be implemented in the Biscainho area, in Coruche. The competition was launched by a group of senior friends aiming to develop a residential complex specifically oriented towards the senior community, based on a collaborative village model that promotes the physical, social, emotional and cultural well-being of its residents, while simultaneously encouraging intergenerational interaction and shared living.
The urban design is based on a regular cellular structure, allowing the repetition of housing modules while ensuring typological diversity and construction efficiency. The development is organized into two residential clusters — north and south — separated by a large green space crossed by a watercourse to be revitalized. In total, the program includes 100 dwellings, both individual and semi-detached, complemented by shared-use buildings, leisure areas and community gardens. The outdoor spaces are designed using natural materials and integrated landscape solutions, enhancing the denaturalization of the watercourse and the creation of a continuous green structure.
